Brooklyn Will Be Here Soon

Went to the doctor today and my blood pressure was a little bit high and I wasn't dialted anymore than last week so we scheduled to induced tomorrow, since the due date was June 11. Tomorrow, Tuesday was the only day this week they could work us in so we definitely took it!! We have to be at the hospital tonight at 9:00 to be started on some medicine that will help get me ready to be induced tomorrow. Then in the morning they will start the pitocin to get my contractions started...finally!

I have been feeling some strong pains off and on but it's usually just in the evenings for a couple of hours. I go to bed and wake up feeling fine. Not really any pains during the day.

Parker is spending the night with Jeremy's sister tonight and my mom will bring him up to the hospital tomorrow.

Well, I guess I better wrap up for now so I can finish getting everything ready for us to head out tonight. Hope that everyone has a great week.

Nothing Yet

Well...we're finally connected to the internet at home so I can update the blog more frequently now. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Jeremy's parents for hooking up the internet at our house for us. I am going to do some business stuff for them from home so they graciously offered to get us hooked up with internet access, and it actually saved them some money because I guess they were running a special or something. Seemed to work out for both of us. Gotta love that!

No real progress yet. I went to the doctor on Monday and he checked me and I wasn't dialated any. I haven't really felt anything so I am just patiently waiting on Brooklyn to arrive. It is so crazy to me how each pregnancy can be so different. Parker was a week early, I never felt any pain until I went into labor 21 hours before he was born. With Brooklyn...she is due today and I'm not feeling anything so I think that her even being born on the due date, much less early (obviously), has passed. She is still moving a little, but mostly she just pushes out on my stomach. My skin is getting pretty sensitive since it's so stretched now. Although it's not comfortable, I thank God for the movements because I know that He's keeping her safe in there!

I'm getting anxious waiting for her and am absolutely LOVING staying home. My mom has been coming over during the day to help me out with Parker so I can rest and get things done around the house. She's so sweet to come out here so I don't have to be here by myself. I'm too anxious and it gets too quiet without Parker here that until Brooklyn's born I think that I need someone around to help me keep my mind off of waiting for Brooklyn.

It was sad leaving work on Thursday. It was a weird feeling leaving my keys on the desk and locking up knowing that would never be my office again. Everyone was so sweet to me and I'll miss them all so much.

I downloaded some pictures from a CD onto my computer at home so I actually do have one to share. My camera is still in my hospital bag which stays in the Tahoe so I haven't taken any news pics lately. Here is one from the baby shower in Dayton at the beginning of May. Well, I can't figure out why the picture won't show up but I will try again later to update it. I have to start getting dinner ready. Hope everyone has had a good week!!

My Last Week!

I'm excited about it being my last week of work, I'm hoping that Brooklyn at least waits until the weekend to make her grand entrance into the world.

Woodridge found someone to do my job temporarily until they find someone permanantly, so I was training him a few days last week. Taylor knows graphics and page layout very well so he's been easy to train. He picks up on everything very quickly. Half of today and all day tomorrow are more training days so by then he'll have it all down for sure.

Went to the doctor on Thursday and saw a new doctor...my doctor is still out of town. Nothing had changed from last week. Still not dialated any. I am hoping to be able to work the rest of this week and go up to Jeremy's parents lab in Mont Belivieu for training on Friday. Once I finish up on Friday, there's not really anything that I feel like I need to accomplish before Brooklyn's born.

We finally got Parker's swingset for his birthday...which was May 4. :) Jeremy found one for a good deal at Toys R Us so he got it Wednesday. He wasn't really very motivated to put it together over the weekend (he hasn't been sleeping very well lately) so yesterday afternoon about 2:30 he went out to start working on it and then he remembered that we were going to put a protective gloss coat on the wood so then he had to go to Lowe's to get what we needed. So...I think that we finally started working on it about 5:00 last night, so needless to say we didn't get much done. Throughout the week we'll work on getting the back sides of all of the wood pieces painted with the gloss coat and hopefully have it all ready for Jeremy to put together over the weekend...assuming that we're not at the hospital over the weekend.

Well, I guess that is about all of the news for now.

Counting Down

So...only 6 more days of work and 15 days until Brooklyn's due date. I'm getting excited, it finally seems like it's getting close.

I had planned to get online Thursday after my appointment to let everyone know how it went, but it ended up being a crazy day. I got to the doctor's office early (doesn't happen very often) and the nurse told me that the doctor was at the hospital delivering a baby, but he'd be back in 30-45 minutes. So, I figured I'd wait instead of trying to schedule another appointment...since I was already there anyway.

20 Minutes went by and the nurse came out to let everyone know it would be at least another 45 minutes before he got there. In no rush to get back to work, I decided to wait. They called me back about 10 minutes later, which really surprised me. The nurse came in, weighed me, took my blood pressure and we listened to the baby's heartbeat. I figured I'd be waiting in the room until the doctor got back. Oh no...a few minutes later in walks my old doctor. It was a little awkward. I just stopped going to him at the beginning of this pregnancy and he was saying stuff like, I haven't seen you in awhile, it's good to see you...those type things. I just smiled and didn't really say anything.

Anyway, he checked me and I wasn't dialated yet. The nurse had noticed that I had edema pretty bad...which at the time I had no idea what that meant, I came back to work and looked it up. It's basically just retaining water. I just asked her if that was bad but she didn't seem to think so since my blood pressure was good! So, I asked the doctor about that and he said it was normal and not to worry about it. The doctor told me to come back in a week to make an appointment with him. I guess he doesn't realize I've switched doctors. My doctor is out of town so I scheduled again with the doctor that I went in to see on Thursday...hopefully he'll be there this time. I have an appointment scheduled for Thursday, May 29 and then Monday, June 9. That should be it. The 9th is 2 days before the due date so that better be the last appointment.

Jeremy and I enjoyed our day off yesterday. Got to spend time with family. It was so hard waking up to come in to work this morning though. I just wanted to climb back in bed for another couple of hours.

I've been having a little trouble sleeping the last few weeks. Well, once I get to sleep I sleep great, it's just getting to sleep. I used to fall asleep the second my head hit the pillow but lately I just lay there awake...wishing that I was asleep. It's not even like I'm laying there thinking of stuff I need to get done or buy for Brooklyn or anything like that. I just lay there, no thoughts in my head, other than how I wish I was already asleep. Typically I'll just get up and do stuff around the house and that gets me tired. I'm SO ready for a good night's sleep again. Hopefully Brooklyn will be a good sleeper like Parker always was.

Well, I guess that I better get busy at work since there are so many things on my list that I need to get done before I leave next week. I hope that everyone has a great week!

Feeling Much Better Today

It feels good to be able to get up and do stuff today. I woke up yesterday with an extremely bad headache and stomach ache. My head only felt okay when I was laying down. Jeremy convinced me to take the day off and said that he'd stay home with me and take care of me. I'm glad he talked me into staying home because I ended up feeling worse later in the day. I went back to bed about 7:30 AM I guess and woke up at noon. I went into the living room where Jeremy and Parker were and layed on the couch the rest of the day.

Jeremy spoiled me, he was great. Anything I needed he got for me right away. He was so sweet. I went through the day without any relief from the headache. If I got up it just got worse, I would get dizzy...so, that is why I spent my whole day on the couch and in bed. I am pretty sure that I spent about 80% of the day asleep...I'm sure Jeremy would agree.

I'm at work today feeling much better. I still have a little bit of a headache, but nothing compared to yesterday. I laid in bed this morning praying...Lord, if Brooklyn's not going to be born today then at least let me feel good enough to go to work. I needed to at least finish typing up my job responsibilities and tie up a few other loose ends. I didn't want to just leave them without any idea of what to do.

We had a good weekend. We went to Jeremy's (Jeremy's cousin, Jeremy) graduation BBQ on Saturday it was alot of fun and the weather was great. Parker loved playing at the park all day and sacked out after about 2 minutes in the Tahoe on our way home. Sunday we stayed home from church because I was feeling so uncomfortable and needed to get some extra sleep. I got 2 calls that day from people wondering if I was at the hospital...no such luck, just being a bum at home.

Well, I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday so unless something exciting happens between now and then I will let you know what the doctor says. Hope that everyone had a great weekend!!

Only 22 more days!

Not Much News

Well, not much news to report I guess. Countdown: 13 Work Days, 29 Days until the due date. I have the bags pack for me and Brooklyn and they're sitting in a corner in the dining room ready for Jeremy to put in the Tahoe. That's what I stayed up doing last night, and the reason I'm tired at work today. :) But, Jeremy can now breathe a sigh of relief. He won't have a to-do list to check off before we can head to the hospital.

I was looking through my pictures earlier and remembered that I forgot to post anything about the Men's Ministry Skeet Shoot that the church did about a month or so ago. Jeremy camped out with Parker the Friday before the skeet shoot and he said that they had a blast. Parker loved riding the 4-wheeler with Jeremy and running around with the flashlight once it turned dark. They stayed up late, slept in a tent and the next day I went to pick Parker up so I stayed for lunch and watched alot of the skeet shooting.

Getting A Little Behind

Alot has gone on since the last time that I wrote and I feel like I'm getting a little behind.

The weekend before last was fun with the baby showers and Parker's birthday. We went to the Park for his birthday and he had so much fun! It was great having my brother and grandmother down for the weekend! Grandmom got to stay with us and Parker really got attached to her over the few days that she was here. It was cute.

Jeremy's nana is still down. She came down for Parker's birthday and made it an extended visit. She was able to stay with us Saturday and Sunday night, and we've really enjoyed her being here. We celebrate Mother's Day and Nana's birthday at Jeremy's parents house tonight and I think that they pack up to leave tomorrow. Jeremy's parents are taking her back to Mississippi and then heading to Gulf Shores, Alabama for a long weekend with just her, the kids and their spouses.

The countdown until Brooklyn's due date is just 30 more days. I'm getting very anxious. We went and did a tour of the hospital on Saturday so we would know where to go when we got there. The nurse that was showing us around was very friendly. She asked me the due date, I told her June 11, she looked at my belly and smiled. She said I think we'll see you before then. So, because Brooklyn has already dropped and is in position the nurse thinks that she'll make an early appearance...works for me!! I'm 36 weeks now so she's fully developed and is just chillin' in there putting on more weight. Sorry Angel, looks like you're going to be a little off with your July 8th prediction...that's just a shame!! :)

Jeremy keeps reminding me that I need to pack my bag so he can put it in the back of the Tahoe and we'll be ready for our hospital stay. It makes me laugh because he's a procrastinator but I think that I'm worrying him a little bit. He doesn't want another repeat of when he was running around the house like crazy the day before I had Parker. I thought that I had a week before Parker was born, but he came early. Jeremy was trying to get everything checked off of my to-do list before we headed to the hospital. So...I started packing my bag last night and this morning and just have to get a few things from the store to pack in there and I'll be good to go. That will be one less worry for Jeremy. I have Brooklyn's stuff in her bed, just need to check my list and see if there's anything else I need and put it in a bag and we'll be all set for her too. WOW...I feel like I'm ahead of the game! Now, as long as she at least waits until the weekend for me to finish packing up, we really will be all ready for her arrival...I'm ready for her to come any time after this weekend!

Jeremy and I went to Walmart on Saturday, after touring the hospital, to use our gift cards from the shower. We got almost everything that we needed for Brooklyn at the shower, so we wanted to go ahead and get as many diapers as we could so we won't have to buy them for several months after she's born, so we filled up the shopping cart. We got some of the craziest looks and had people making comments like, looks like someone is stocking up on diapers and people asking, how many kids (or I think it was chir'n) we have and stuff like that.

I had a good Mother's Day. Jeremy made us home made, from scratch, blueberry and strawberry pancakes. They were both SO good. We were bragging on him all day about those!! We'll have to get him to do that more often. :) Brooklyn and her daddy "bonded" during the church service. She was going crazy with her wiggling and Jeremy would press on my belly when she'd slow down and it would get her all stirred up again. He said that they were bonding. I'll be glad when I don't feel beat up after they've bonded!

We headed to my parents house about 3:00 and celebrated Mother's Day with her. My dad grilled for supper around 6:00 and we just ate and hung out. It was nice. We picked nana up from Jeremy's parents and went back to the house and played the Wii and Parker's new favorite game...Let's Go Fishing. I think that he could play that all day. Nana probably got tired of it since she was the only one that Parker wanted playing with her.

Here is a picture of Parker in Brooklyn's crib. He loves to climb in there and turn on the mobile. He told me that he wanted to take a nap in there so I went and got his pillow and covered him up with one of the blankets in the crib. He closed his eyes really tight for about 10 seconds, long enough for the picture, opened them up and said that he felt rested and his nap was over. Last week he climbed in her bed and curled up in the corner. He told me that is where he's going to sleep when baby sister is born. I think that he'll be a really good big brother. He loves being a helper.

Well, I guess that is probably all that has happened since I wrote anything last.
