Wow...December Already

It's so hard to believe that it is already December, the year has flown by. We've gotten the Christmas decorations up and will go this weekend to get our tree. I love this time of year.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Georgia with Amy, Craig and the boys. Gene and mom were able to come too. Dad even surprised us and showed up. He flew in on Wednesday and I had no idea he was going to be there, it was a nice surprise. The kids had a good time playing together. It was so good to have everyone together. We'll be able to enjoy family again for Christmas. Everyone will be in Dayton, grandmom and April will even come down, I'm so excited!
Hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Halloween 2009

The kids had a good time at the Fall Festival at the church. Brooklyn was an indian and loved her dress. She liked the noise that the beads made. Parker was a cute little cowboy, a "real cowboy" as we kept saying. Here are some pictures.

I finally downloaded the pictures of the kids carving the pumpkin and also some of them picking out the pumpkins at the pumpkin patch.

Gene and April are coming down this weekend for his birthday. It is Friday...the big 3-0. I know he'll get some hunting in too while me, April and mom go to the Craft Fair at the church. It'll be a fun weekend. Parker and Jeremy will be in Mississippi. Jeremy wants to plant some wildflowers for his granny for Christmas and says now is the best time to plant them. Hopefully they do well and granny will have some pretty flowers to enjoy.
Well, I am in the middle of a project so I better get back to it. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

The Past Several Months

Well, I guess I'll start with the most recent things that have happened and see if how far I can go back.

Brooklyn and Parker had a rough day on Monday. Brooklyn was climbing into her stroller and fell back onto Parker. Her head hit his and there was much drama! They both were crying, I had to get out the Tylenol because I knew they would both have headaches. Then later she fell and skinned her nose on the carpet. I couldn't believe that she got carpet burn on her nose. Now my sweet little girl is going to have a scab on her nose in all of her halloween pictures. Oh well.

Parker is going to be a cowboy for Halloween and Brooklyn is going to be an Indian. They both look so cute in their costumes. They dressed up in their costumes last weekend for Jonah's first birthday party but we didn't get any good pictures. Maybe we'll have better luck on Saturday. I'll post some pictures when I get some.

We carved our pumpkin on Monday...pictures to come (I have to get them off of my mom's camera). Parker wasn't too excited about getting out the "guts". He looked in and scrunched up his nose, wrinkled his forehead and said...that is gross. Jeremy got them both involved and they ended up enjoying it. Brooklyn was a little messy though. She liked reaching in and grabbing the stuff out, but when she couldn't get it all off of her hands, she would sling her hands around and pumpkin innerds would go flying. It was a mess, but the kids had a good time.

Parker is turning into a funny little story teller. We were in the car coming home a few days ago he says momma, paige was so confused today...listen, this is going to be funny. :) That made me laugh...a little 4 year old telling me to listen to his story because it's going to be funny. Silly boy. The things he says are so funny. He went out to eat with Jeremy and his parents a week ago while I went to a scapbook night at the church. When we all got home I asked him what he had for supper. He told me that he had sliced cow.

Brooklyn is getting to be a little sassy lately. She definitely likes things done her way. She tries pulling me all over the house and will point to what she wants. She jabbers but really is speaking some other language. She has her words she says...paci, milk, eye, cheek...and several others, but for the most part she speaks a different language. Her newest thing is to climb onto something she's not supposed to when I'm not looking and says "I tall". Yes, sweet girl...now get down. She has so sense of fear. She is wild, adventurous and crazy. She is fun and a sweet little girl (most of the time).

Jeremy is on the deer lease with my dad this year so he and Parker have really been helping my dad out. Parker loves to be pops helper. Parker and Jeremy were meeting my dad out at the lease one Saturday morning. I gave him a pack of goldfish crackers and told him to put it in his pocket so the deer couldn't get it. He said, silly momma...deer are scared of people. Wow, I didn't know that he knew that.

My grandmother and brother came down a few months ago. Gene had a conference in Houston and it was close to my birthday so grandmom came down and we all celebrated. It was fun. We took the kids to play outside...their favorite place to be. Jeremy had drained the pool and cleaned it because we found a dead squirrel in it. He had turned it over to let the bottom dry and before he got it put up it rained. The kids had so much fun playing in the pool with the little bit of water that had accumulated on it from the rain. I remember as a kid though, we loved playing in the pool after we cleaned it out and were filling it back up. It was a big slip and slide...good memories.

Mom and I are doing children's choir at church for the 4 and 5 year olds. Oh my goodness. I didn't realize how much of a challenge that was going to be. Those kids have an attention span that last about 30 seconds. I feel exhausted after an hour with them. The kids are so cute though learning their songs. They have a good time. We have between 7-10 kids usually.

Brooklyn has started to try and feed herself which has made for a lot of frustration on my part and alot of mess on her part. I got this cute picture of her using her spoon. Notice the shirt says everyone loves a brown eyed girl. Not sure what I was thinking when I bought that shirt because as you can see in the picture, her eyes are not brown. I didn't even think anything about it until I got home and showed Jeremy and he said something about that didn't really apply to Brooklyn...I thought about it. Oh my goodness...she has blue eyes. What was I thinking. She's the only one in the family that has blue eyes (except for my brother), I totally forgot. Temporary memory loss.

We're pretty excited about Thanksgiving this year. We are going to Georgia. Mom is going to fly with Parker on Tuesday the week of Thanksgiving and we'll probably get there early Thursday morning...hopefully. We'll split the trip up into two days. Jeremy has family in Mississippi so it works out great to stop there and get some sleep and finish up early the next morning. We don't get to see Amy and her family much so we're excited when we get the chance to see them.

Well, I think that I'm going to wrap it up for today. I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Behind...Once Again

I know alot has happened since I last blogged so let me see if I can remember at least a few of them.

Our computer is having some issues and is in the process of being fixed so I have been without one for awhile...I feel so lost without it. We're having our weekly family dinner with my parents tonight so I'm using their computer to finally update the blog. I can't post any pictures because they're all on my computer...hopefully they're still there.

Jeremy got our pool up last week and it is GREAT!! We have such a good time swimming in it. I keep trying to get Parker to practice what he learned in swimming lessons but he keeps just doing the circles with his arms and not kicking because he can touch the bottom so he doesn't have to kick. Brooklyn is pretty brave in there too. She gets all excited. I'll dunk her under and it doesn't scare her. She gets bored with it alot quicker than Parker does though so we try to go swimming during her nap.

We had a garage sale a couple of weekends ago and got rid of Parker and Brooklyn's old clothes, baby stuff and a few odds and ends. We did really good on Friday but not a big crowd on Saturday which was weird. Parker was there with me on Friday and was quite offended that those people were taking his stuff. There was a police man that kept driving around the block every 45 minutes or so. I told Parker to wave to him. Parker runs out to the end of the driveway waving the whole time and says hi to the policeman. The policeman waves back and says hey there. Parker turned around, and laughing said...momma, he just called me mater. So cute! He makes me laugh.

Jeremy injured himself a few weekends ago. He went with the youth to a lock out and fell while playing broomball. He fell onto the ice, right on his knee. A week later it was still hurting so he finally went to the doctor. He has a broken knee cap. The doctor said that he could splint it or Jeremy could just not squat...so of course he said that he'd rather not have a splint.

Brooklyn turned one last month. We had a party for her at the house. We invited family and a few friends. It was fun. Unlike Parker, she actually tried the cake. Parker wouldn't eat his cake at his first birthday. We did a ladybug cake which turned out SO cute. We had a hard time with it though because our a/c was out at the time so the icing kept melting. We would have to ice a little section, put the cake in the fridge and the icing in the freezer. Get it out 5-10 minutes later and do a little more. We are so grateful to have our a/c fixed now. Texas summers are too hot to have no a/c.

I got my hair cut. It had gotten pretty long. I liked it long, but it took so long to fix. I had decided awhile back that I was going to let it grow out so I could donate to locks of love. The minimum donation is 10 inches so that is how much I got cut off. My hair donation will go to make a wig for a kid with medical hair loss.

Well, that is all that I can think of so I guess I will wrap up. As soon as I get my computer fixed I'll upload some pictures.

Swimming Lessons

Parker started swimming lessons last week and is loving it. We can't get him to talk about it much though. I asked him about swimming lessons yesterday and he said...why do i always have to tell everyone about swimming lessons. He's so silly. He scared me (and himself) yesterday. He wasn't paying attention and slipped off of the step. I was getting Brooklyn a snack out of the back of the stroller and looked up to see him struggling trying to get out of the water. His teacher was helping one of the other kids but saw him and went over and helped him to the side. I remained calm (surprisingly) and went over to him to wipe his face off with the towel. He started to get upset and cry but I reassured him that he was okay. By his next turn he was out there again and not scared anymore. Tomorrow is his last day and Jeremy is going to be able to come and see him.

My sweet little baby girl turned one today. We're having her party on Saturday. I'll post some pictures next week hopefully. I better get to bed, it's getting so late.

Parker's Birthday

We had fun out at the park for Parker and Jeremy's birthday on the 2nd. Jeremy boiled crawfish, potatoes, sausage and corn and grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. The kids loved running from one playground to the other. It turned out to be a nice weekend, it wasn't very hot and there was a good breeze.

I have some more pics to post but I need to tend to a few things so hopefully I'll get them up tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day.

Backtracking

I finally downloaded pictures from my mom's camera so here they are...

Brooklyn's baby dedication

Here are a few from Georgia...

Halloween...carving pumpkins. Jeremy's costume scared a few kids.

Okay, I think that is it for old pictures. We're celebrating Parker and Jeremy's birthday this weekend. We're going to the park again. I asked Parker what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said that he wanted to play...easy enough. It's so hard to believe he's going to be 4...wow, time flies. He's getting so big and says the funniest things.
Easter was fun. It was Brooklyn's first Easter. She wasn't interested in too much. She found two eggs and would just hit them together for awhile and throw them down and pick them up again. Parker loved it of course. Parker loved dying the eggs too but Brooklyn threw them down so hard they would crack...so we didn't let her hold the real eggs.

Well, I guess I'm going to end for now. Brooklyn is fussy and Parker is waiting to watch a movie on the computer.

Slacking Off

I can't believe that it's been over a month since I have updated the blog...what a slacker I've been. So much has happened over the last month. Jeremy's still at work because they're doing inventory and the kids are asleep so I thought I better get on here and update while I was thinking about it.

Spring break, mom and I took the kids to visit Amy and her family in Georgia. Breaking up the trip into two days made it easy on the kids. They both did really good. Going up there was miserable because I was sick, but luckily it passed after a few days and I enjoyed the rest of our trip. We had a good time, of course, spending time with family. I have no pictures though. We used mom's camera because Jeremy had ours...he went on the church ski trip. I haven't gotten her pics downloaded and burned to a CD yet so hopefully I'll do that soon and post them in a later blog (hopefully before next month).

Jessica and Jody came to visit and go to the Rodeo. It was alot of fun. Once again...I have no pictures, so I saved these off of Jessica's facebook album. :) Thanks Jess.

I got home Sunday night from Georgia and Jess and Jody came in on Wednesday night. They had a little trouble getting here but they made it. We caught up on what had happened since we saw each other last, had a relaxing Thursday and Friday and headed to the rodeo. It was a fun weekend, but went by way too fast.

Brooklyn is walking so good now. She gets excited about something and will start walking really fast...and as long as she doesn't have shoes on, she usually doesn't fall down. It is hard for me to believe that she's 9 months old already and Parker will be 4 next month. I am kind of wondering if he's going to be disappointed on his birthday that he's only going to be 4. He has it in his mind that he's going to be 5 and get to go to kindergarten. He's rushing things a little too much for me.
We went outside to play earlier today and we had a few visitors...which were still there when it was getting dark outside.

I swear we are a magnet for strays. As soon as we were going into the backyard I see the dogs coming through the fence. We always get the strays that won't leave. I can throw rocks at them, shoot the bb gun at them...they don't leave, they just lay down and wimper. How do you get rid of a dog that does that?? The dogs were pretty cute so I just let them play around in the yard, but they started to get a little rough with Parker. They were just playing and it was pretty funny, but Parker was getting mad at them. They would follow behind him and nip at him and got him in the butt a few times and nipped at his fingers. I told Parker to pop them on the nose but he wouldn't do it. So...I decide I'll chase them off with the bb gun because Parker didn't want to be outside if they were out there. The dumb dogs just stand there so I had to actually hit them with the bb's to make them run off...but they only run under the shed so I really can't get rid of them. We decided just to go inside and hope they would go away. Here's a video of Parker playing with them...before he got mad at them.

Despite the dogs out there, the kids did have some fun. Brooklyn loved the dogs, she kept laughing at them.

I don't know if you can tell, but Brooklyn is sitting in one of Parker's dump trucks. She hated the sand touching her feet. She was trying so hard to get out of the sandbox but I was holding onto her trying to get her used to it. She started to cry so I thought we'd just try the dump truck...which she didn't really like either so I had to hold her up out of the sand. I guess we'll try that another day.

Here's a few more pics of the kids outside.

Here's a cute picture of Parker playing boxing on the Wii. He just figured that one out and he loves it, he's pretty good at it too.

Alright, well I hope that everyone was a wonderful weekend.
