Daddy's Little Girl

Oh my...it has starts already. This morning I heard Brooklyn fussing right before Jeremy left for work so I went in and got her so Jeremy could see for a few minutes before he left. He was talking to her and she was smiling at him of course. She just has to hear his voice and she smiles, it's so sweet. So, he talked to her for a few minutes, got his grins from her and was headed to work. As soon as Jeremy stopped talking to her, she started crying. It was so crazy.

I had to take the kids to the doctor yesterday and to run a few errands, it wasn't as bad as I thought that it would be. I had been telling Parker that he wasn't going to get a shot at the doctor's office so he was fine with going. We get there, checked in, they call us back and Parker stops in the doorway that leads from the waiting room to the offices and says to the nurse, "I don't want to get a shot today". He had the whole waiting room of people cracking up. He's so crazy. I was informed a few minutes later that he actually did have to get a shot. He sat up there on the bed and I was trying to get him to look at me and tell me a story to distract him from seeing the nurse but before he was distracted, she went ahead and gave him the shot. He said ouch and his face started contorting crazy ways and then he was wailing. No tears, but he was upset. He finally decided he was okay when the nurse said that she had something special for him. He followed her to get his surprise while I was getting Brookyn dressed after her shots and he came back with what he kept calling a ticket. It was a coupon for a free ice cream. He was pretty excited about that.

The doctor was trying to see how much of an imagination that Parker had so he was interacting with him and asking him questions. He asked him his name...Parker...Your full name...Parker Spell...do you know your middle name...Parker Jeremy Spell. He looked at me and I said Jeremiah, so he was pretty impressed because he was pretty close. Then he asked what's momma's name...Julie Spell...what's daddy's name...daddy...what does momma call him...knucklehead. Where did he get that from? Jeremy and Parker call each other knucklehead but I have never called either one of them that. He's so silly.

We met up with Jeremy for lunch and I headed to Woodridge to print up some insurance information for their records. I got to visit with my friends which was alot of fun. I try and go up there every time that I'm over that way during the day.

Well, I better wrap this up and clean my kitchen. It is a disaster. Hope everyone enjoys their long weekend.

Routine is Good!!

Well, we haven't gotten Parker in his whole routine yet but we're working on it. Brooklyn though...thankfully is getting into a routine. We put her to bed about 10:00 and she doesn't wake up until 7:30 AM now. WOO HOO. It was 4:00-5:30 AM that she was waking up. She's finally gotten more predictable with her day. She's staying awake more now so when she wakes up at 7:30, she usually drinks her bottle within 5-10 minutes and stays up for just 30 minutes at the most, goes back to sleep until about 10:00 AM and from then on she usually stays up for about an hour and a half and sleeps for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. It's working out great.

I decided that I was going to set my alarm and wake up before Jeremy and get my shower and get dressed so I'll be ready for the day before the kids get up. This morning was my first attempt...and it went well, except for the fact that I forgot to turn my alarm off so when I was in the shower it kept going off while Jeremy was trying to sleep...oops.

Jeremy is having troubles with sinuses or allergies...not sure which it is. I feel so bad for him because I can tell he feels crummy. He fell asleep last night about 8:00, I woke him up around 11:30 to go to bed and he went right back to sleep and didn't wake up until 7:00 this morning...and he still didn't feel rested when he woke up. He's taking so much medicine it's making him tired I guess. I'm going to Walgreens later and get him something stronger that he won't have to take as often and will hopefully kick this out of his system. So, while he's not feeling good, I'm taking advantage of beating his scores on Wii Fit because he doesn't feel like getting on there to TRY and beat me again. :)

I have to take the kids to the doctor on Thursday. Brooklyn has to get her 2 month shots and Parker just has a 3 year check up...yes, I know...he turned 3 in May, so I'm a little behind. Jeremy is going to meet me up there so luckily I will have a little help. Then I have to run a few errands with them, that ought to be fun. I don't go over that way much so when I do, I try and get everything done in one day.
Brooklyn is really enjoying being a big girl...at least she thinks she's a big girl. She loves being in the jumperoo. She likes it better now that it lights up...I finally put batteries in it. I got this cute picture of her in it a few days ago. She gets so excited about everything, it's so cute. I put her in it mostly because she pushes so hard against me with her feet that I thought that she could develop those muscles more if she had a better surface to push off of. She likes it for a longer period of time if Parker or I are in there watching her.

I took Parker to the library yesterday and he enjoyed it. He picked out 6 books and 4 movies. He just randomly goes down the rows in the kids section and pulls books out, he doesn't care what they are. This week's selections...Open House for Butterflies, The Meanest Thing To Say, The Magic Moonberry Jump Ropes, Milo and the Magical Stones, 3 Little Pigs, and a book of nursery rhymes. He is so crazy. I try to get him to pick Veggie Tales, Arthur or something like that but he never likes my choices. That's fine. He picks what he wants and he actually sits and listens to the stories so that's really the point of going and getting books. Usually I read him the story once and then he wants to read it to me. He looks at the pages and makes up the story from there.
Here is a cute video of Parker and Brooklyn talking to each other...he's taught her well. I guess she was mad because we weren't understanding her because her "talking" turned into fussing.

Oh, when I was downloading the other video to my computer I found this one too. It's so funny. I'm not sure if you can hear what Parker is saying at first but then he says it louder. He's whispering to Brooklyn that "Daddy is a knucklehead".

Well, I guess I better go wash Brooklyn's bottles before she wakes up hungry. Have a good day!!

Wii Fit

Okay, I didn't know that exercising could be so fun! I had posted on the blog earlier this week about wanting to lose weight which made Jeremy decide to give me my birthday present early. I had talked about wanting to get Wii Fit but I would never spend the money to get it...I would have just ended up buying a cheap workout video that I probably wouldn't have stuck to. So, I tried out the Wii Fit games last night and it was really pretty fun. My calves keep feeling like they're going to cramp up but I enjoyed the workout. I got up before the kids this morning (which doesn't happen often) and got a chance to workout for 30 minutes. This is something that I could actually stick to. Jeremy did it too which motivates me even more to do it because I try to beat his scores.

A few other random things...
Parker wakes up in the early morning alot and comes and gets in bed with us. So, of course he came in this morning. The crazy thing was that he woke me up by saying...momma, did your finger get bit off? I told him no and reached over to help him in the bed and he was feeling my fingers. I asked him why he was wondering if my finger got bit off and he said..."because I bit it off". Apparently he was having a crazy dream where he's biting my fingers off. Not sure where that came from. Should I be worried?? He's such a sweet little boy and has such a big imagination and loves to entertain. Although he can be a little stubborn, wound up and active, I LOVE being home with him. He is my little man, reminds me so much of his daddy...which makes me love him even more.

Parker goes down for a nap today, he grabs his bear...which he calls Bubba for some reason...hugs him and says "precious Bubba". I laughed and of course he laughs and says "momma, something is funny." He loves to make people laugh.

Parker's names he makes up for his pirates (or any toys for that matter): Fikey, Cokas, Freddy and Cooka. Such an imagination.

Brooklyn...hmmm. She doesn't do much. She is doing really good at sitting in her bumbo and when she smiles her whole face lights up and she crinkles her nose up. She is enjoying being on the floor on her back and will tolerate being on her tummy for a few minutes. She's a cuddler just like Parker. She is FINALLY getting over cradle cap but is losing her hair on the sides of her head. It looks like it's lightening up too. Her eyes are still blue though. We've put her in the jumperoo a few times and she likes it. She kind of just likes to check things out but doesn't want to be in the same place for too long. She's more high maintenance than Parker was at that age, but she's still fun. She's my sweet little girl.

Jeremy's at a men's conference in Houston this weekend...or really just tonight and part of the day tomorrow. He's turned me into a night owl since I quit and am staying at home. We always loved staying up late together but when I worked I couldn't stay up late since I had to wake up at 5:15 AM...that was so stinkin' early. So, we enjoy our evenings together just watching movies, playing games or just talking and laughing together. He's so much fun.

Well, it's late but I am going to take advantage of the quiet time I have now and get some stuff done around the house. Have a great weekend!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Once again, it is raining and I had to get out in it this morning. I was getting everything ready to throw in the crock pot this morning and realized that I was missing something that I needed so I got the kids dressed really quick, loaded them up and headed into town in the rain. Parker of course didn't mind the rain, but Brooklyn wasn't happy once that first drop of rain hit her arm.

It wasn't a bad trip though, the kids were good. We pulled up the same time as my mom, which was crazy. The alarms at her school were set off by the bad weather this morning so with the loud obnoxious alarms going off, they weren't able to get much done at the school so she checked out and went on the hunt for large brown paper bags.

As always, Parker was pushing the shopping cart which means I have to hold on to the end of the cart so he doesn't run into everything. He gets to the end of an aisle and asks...where do we go now, I tell him and we're off looking for what's next on our list. He got tired of pushing so I took over and he was walking up and down the aisle giggling. I guess I need to get him out more or maybe he's just very entertained by the grocery store for some reason. :) We went to check out and the lady let him scan the items and he thought that was pretty cool. Then he told the lady behind him how he got to scan the items...he really isn't shy. His personality changed when Brooklyn was born. He's always entertained us, but wasn't as good with strangers or in a crowd. Now, I haven't found a situation yet where he's been shy.

Well, looks like it's turning out to be another day of nasty weather. My mom showed us a website of kid games so Parker has really enjoyed playing computer games lately. They teach shapes and letters and then some fun stuff like recycling. Parker saw me at the computer and is now asking to play the games so I guess I'll wrap this up.

Here are a few random pics of the kids. Hope that everyone has a great rest of the week.

Setting Goals

I have decided that I really need to set a routine for the kids, which will hopefully make things go more smoothly. I was so stressed out yesterday talking to Jeremy...Brooklyn wasn't sleeping good and was fussing alot and Parker just wasn't listening and was being so wild and rambunctious from being inside all day for so many days because of the rain. We bounced some ideas off of each other and came up with a routine that I think will work out good. Parker has been getting really upset when it's time for bed and kind of wanting to do what he wants to do instead of what he's told so I think that routine will be good for him. Now that I'm at home with him all week I can actually accomplish this!!

My other goal is getting back down to a weight that I'm comfortable at. I have lost all of my weight that I gained from my pregnancy with Brooklyn, but because of what pregnancy can do to your body...I'm still not comfortably back in my pre-pregnancy clothes yet. So, I want to be able to fit back in my clothes I wore before I was pregnant by the time that my birthday rolls around at the end of September. That's definitely a reachable goal, but getting motivated is hard...especially with two kids at home. We were going on walks in the mornings but with the rain we haven't been able to do that. Parker rides his tricycle and I put Brooklyn in the carrier and we try to stay out for an hour...which proved to be a little too much for Parker last time. We were about 10 minutes from the house, headed back and Parker got tired of riding his tricycle so he started pulling it behind him. A lady drove by us, turned around and came back and asked me if I was headed somewhere. I told her that I was headed to my house...she said oh, okay...i just didn't know because you were out here with the baby and all. I guess we looked like we were wandering. I thought that was sweet of a total stranger to be concerned about us.

When I was updating the blog yesterday I had a Toby Mac song playing on the computer and Parker started bobbing his head a little like he was getting ready to bust a move so of course I had to get the camera out to video him. He's such an entertainer, not a bit shy of being the center of attention. I laugh when I see the video of him dancing so of course I have to post it. Here you go, enjoy...

Catching up...once again

I was talking to Jeremy last night about how I needed to update the blog and since we dowloaded some pictures last night I figured that I better do that this morning. Brooklyn has decided that she doesn't really need to sleep so I have finally gotten her to sleep and Parker is watching a movie so I have a little time to finally update.

We went and visited Gene in Mansfield a few weekends ago, that was fun. Mom and I hadn't seen his house so we went up there to see the house and visit with him. Gene and I played putt putt golf on Saturday...I let him win. Mom and dad stayed at Gene's house and watched the kids. We went to my grandmom's house in Fort Worth for dinner on Saturday and got to visit with her and my aunts, uncles, and cousins. We had a good time. Gene's house by the way...is very nice! I was impressed, he had decorations up and everything.

Brooklyn is getting more active and staying awake more. She's 2 months old now. She has the sweetest little grin and smile. She goes crazy when she hears Jeremy, it's so funny. He'll say...daddy's gonna get you...and she squirms all over the place.

Parker is doing good too...active as always. He was running through the house last night playing chase with Jeremy and ran into our bedroom (the light was off) and tripped and hit the paper shredder...ouch! He's got a big bruise on his face and scrape on his arm. He hasn't injured himself like that in awhile.

Parker was being so sweet to Brooklyn yesterday. He just wanted to love on her all of the time and be where she was. He is so sweet to his sister, which reallly surprises me. I though he'd be jealous but he doesn't really seem to be.

Here are a few more pictures of the kids...
